Pakistan is shaken by an earthquake with a 6.8 magnitude.

Thirty seconds of vibrations were felt; numerous earthquake-related incidents resulted in injury.

Authorities reported that a strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck areas of Pakistan on Tuesday night left at least six people dead and dozens more injured. 

Reports state that earthquakes were felt across the nation, including in Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, DI Khan, Swabi, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Parachinar, and Skardu.

Many buildings and structures were also damaged by the earthquake. 

They fled their homes in a state of terror after the earthquakes lasted for 30 seconds and began chanting verses from the Holy Quran. 

A 13-year-old girl was reportedly murdered in Swat when the wall of her home fell. They said that one additional person perished in the roof fall of the residence, which also injured two other individuals. 

The police added that 50 injured people in total had been taken to Swat's Saidu Sharif hospital. Rescue workers reported that a total of 43 persons had been hurt in various incidents connected to the Lower Dir earthquake.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Service, the earthquake's epicentre was in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region, and its depth was 180 kilometres (PMD). 

Indian media claim that New Delhi also experienced the tremor. 

Cracks appeared in a number of high-rise apartment complexes and commercial structures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, frightening the locals. 

Teams from the city government are visiting the sites in the meanwhile to evaluate the damaged buildings and assist the locals.

Federal Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel issued an emergency notice at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Federal Government Polyclinic due to the severe tremors experienced in various regions of the nation. 

He advised the hospital administration to take proactive steps to handle any emergency. 

A guy in Sector G-7 of Islamabad experienced cardiac arrest after the earthquake, according to a health department spokeswoman. He was sent to the Polyclinic Hospital, but he passed away. 

According to a preliminary assessment from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had two fatalities and six injuries. Meanwhile, eight homes suffered just minor damage. An emergency was declared in the hospitals by the provincial health department.

A woman is killed when a lower Dir wall collapses.

The first casualty in the moderate earthquake that jolted most of the country was a woman who died when a wall of her house collapsed in Lower Dir. 

According to police, the incident occurred in the Dheri neighbourhood of Lower Dir. According to hospital sources, a woman died after the wall of her house collapsed on her due to the tremors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who prayed for the people's safety, directed that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other institutions be prepared to deal with any emergency.

It is worth noting that a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan and Pakistan last June. In Afghanistan, an earthquake killed over 1,000 people and injured over 600 more. 

The quake struck about 44 kilometres (27 miles) from Khost, near the Pakistani border, according to the US Geological Survey (USGC). 

According to the EMSC, approximately 119 million people in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India experienced shaking. 

Tremors were felt in Islamabad, Multan, Bhakkar, Phalia, Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Buner, among other locations in Pakistan. It had a depth of 44 kilometres and its epicentre was southwest of Khost in Afghanistan.
